As a recent grad from San Diego State University with a B.A. in journalism emphasis in public relations (minor in economics), Vivian Huang is a public relations professional, currently trying her hand at digital journalism. Working at Socialholic Network Inc., Vivian is a content writer for various in-house brands covering topics such as fitness, health, technology, travel and general entertainment (think Buzzfeed and Reddit). In addition, she serves as a social media manager, executing digital strategies for Socialholic and Skirt Collective.
When she designed her first Myspace layout using original CSS and self-taught Photoshop skills in middle school, Vivian became intrigued by the world of digital media. Combined with her passion for writing, she entered the world of public relations eager to help brands find their own social media voice.
As a former social media coordinator at Be Social Public Relations, she oversaw all social media campaigns and worked on day-to-day account management for lifestyle, beauty and restaurant clients. Vivian’s prior professional experience also includes being a public relations/social media intern for the reputations team at renowned integrated marketing agency, i.d.e.a., formerly known as Bailey Gardiner, where she learned the basics of social media strategy, SEO and media pitching.
Vivian spends her free time as a heavy consumer of social media, books, movies, magazines, and music. She’s claimed stakes on her own corner of the Internet with vivianlindsay.com, where she blogs about music and life and occasionally gets to interview up and coming country artists. Her goal is to grow as a public relations practitioner and further her education in the public relations field.
